Independent · Nonpartisan · Public data
Governments publish the numbers. We collect them, score them, and grade every province, city, and member of Parliament on the value they deliver for your taxes — so you can see exactly what you're getting. All public sources, one ledger, no spin.
Three ledgers, one standard
How does your province spend your tax dollar? Healthcare wait times, housing starts, credit ratings, and education outcomes — graded head to head across all ten.
What do you get for your property tax dollar? Safety, transit, housing affordability, and infrastructure delivery — measured for every major metro area.
What has your MP delivered for your federal tax dollar? Investment secured, voting record, office expenses, and electoral health — across all 343 ridings.
Every number traces to Statistics Canada, CIHI, CMHC, CREA, provincial auditors, and other public records. Nothing is proprietary or paywalled.
Each entity is scored on weighted categories with the same published methodology, then converted to a letter grade you can trace line by line.
The ledger grades outcomes, not politics. Governments of every stripe are measured against the same evidence and the same bar.
Keep the ledger open
The Nonpartisan Governance Ledger is free to read — always. No paywall, no ads, no partisan agenda. But the data costs money: hosting, subscriptions, and hundreds of hours tracking down numbers governments don't make easy to find. If it's ever informed an opinion of yours, consider chipping in.
Directly pays for data, hosting, and the hours behind the numbers.
